Haydos joins the party

It was great to see my team, Chennai Super Kings, put it across a top side like Delhi Daredevils in our previous game. A lot of credit for the result should go to Matthew Hayden who has finally come to the party with a bang. He made a tough target look ridiculously simple with his power-packed innings.
Hayden has an intimidating presence at the wicket and he likes to take on the bowling. He not only plays the big shots and scores quickly, but he also destroys the opposition psychologically. A lot has been said about him using the Mongoose bat. But to me, it is more about the man and his methods rather than the bat he uses.
Suresh Raina complimented Hayden very well. He batted with a lot of responsibility and did well to stay there till the end. Both Hayden and Raina are our key players at the top of the order and to see them firing augurs well for the side.
As a captain, Raina looked under pressure when Delhi batted. He seemed to have done a lot of damage to his fingernails when Virender Sehwag was going full blast. But he did well to keep shuffling his bowlers.
The thing is, you can never contain players like Adam Gilchrist and Virender Sehwag. You need to get them out. That is exactly what Muttiah Muralitharan and Laxmipathi Balaji did and they were backed up with some good work in the field.
Raina took a couple of brilliant catches while Justin Kemp’s one-handed overhead catch off Sehwag at the long-off boundary was simply outstanding. These big wickets in the middle overs was the reason why Delhi finished with 185 and not with a total of 200 plus.
We square up against Kings XI Punjab next and it is important for us to keep the momentum going. Though Punjab has lost all their three games we need to be on guard because, in this format, you just cannot afford to take any team lightly.
I am enjoying my unexpected break at home with my family. I have been cleaning my bikes and enjoying my time with my dogs Sam, Zara and Zoya. As for my injury update, it is getting better.
However, since there is a lot of cricket ahead and I would not like to rush back into the side. Not until I am a hundred percent fit.
As of now, I am surely going to miss out on the next two games against Kings XI Punjab and the next one against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Hopefully, I shall be fit for our clash against Mumbai Indians on Thursday.

Glad u taking it easy Mahi. I think u deserve this break as the team is forever involved in games and hardly have time to rest with all that travelling etc. Missing your presence on the fields. Hoping u get well soon and make the most of this time with your family including Sam, Zoya & Zara. Take care.

Hi Mahi,
I am happy that ur recoverying well. gell well soon..Dont rush for IPL..your presence is important for T2o ICC trophy.
Also Mahi dont you think Murli Vijay and Badrinath are the test players not for T2o. The sooner they learn how to play T20 it will be good for CSK. I see murli vijay defend more balls like how he use to do in test. He needs to know that he need to swtich gear here and you will get only few balls to hit.
All my prayers are with CSK. You as an indian captian should lift the trophy this time.
Raina is doing a great job in your absence. My hearty congrats to him.
Best Regrds
